Icareus Studios has delivered Interactive TV Games service to D2H in India.
D2H is a satellite operator providing a DTH service in Indian market. D2H is a part of the Videocon group, which is an industrial conglomerate with interests all over the world and based in India. The group has 17 manufacturing sites in India and plants in China, Poland, Italy and Mexico and has an annual turnover of US$ 4.1 billion, making it one of the largest consumer electronic and home appliance companies in India.
The D2H’s game service will include 8 Interactive TV games at the first stage and gaming portal in SD (Standard Definition) format. The delivered games are based on Java technology running on Irdeto’s IDway middleware.
Icareus Interactive TV games are so-called casual games, which can be e.g. puzzle, word, simple action, arcade and other family-friendly, non-violent games. The game titles include e.g. JungleTrix, Crosswords, BlockSmasher, The Titan Expedition, Trivia, Memorize, Max The Hungry Monkey, Tennis, Sudoku, BlackJack, Solitaire, Darts, Caveman and Scratch Lottery.
Icareus’ casual game portal is targeted to both broadcasters and operators that want to offer casual games to be played alongside programming (scaled video can be included in the game) or while waiting for the favourite show to start and even generate revenues.
