Icareus BidCracker is an exciting cross-media reverse auction format that seamlessly combines TV, IPTV, Internet and mobile to create an all-around experience for the end user.

In BidCracker the viewers and users are invited to bid on products through their mobile phones, fixed line phones, remote control and Internet. However, unlike in traditional auctions in BidCracker the lowest unique bidder takes away prize. The revenue is generated from premium priced bids (e.g. 2 EUR/bid) that are charged through SMS, WAP, IVR, credit cards and other billing systems (e.g. monthly bill).

The optional TV interface (TV show and/or ad-spots) functions as a “shop window” for the Internet/WAP/set-top-box based auction that can be accessed 24/7, thereby extending the format and increasing the profits considerably.
